On 8/13/18 at 23:12 I was dispatched to 4136 Countryview Dr. to a report of a possible harassment issue. I was met at the door by Sarah Brodkorb and her husband, Michael Brodkorb. Sarah and Micheal showed me a picture that had been taken at the outlet mall in Eagan on Saturday by an unknown person. The photo had been posted to a Twitter account with the name of Jane Johnson, @johnsonmedia2. Famous Footwear. The photo was of Sarah and her daughter at the register at Neither Sarah nor her daughter appear to know that the photo was taken. In checking her receipt, Sarah was able to tell me that she was at the register at Famous Footwear on 8/11/ 18 at 12: 58: 33. The photo is captioned " Sarah # mbrodkorb # missinginminnesota spending money received from David Rucki via stolen from # grazzinirucki caught trust and Minneasota. evavoid" Micheal and Sarah believe that whoever took this photo is in some way connected to Sandra Grazzini Rucki. Micheal said that he is a journalist and an author, and he covered a case regarding Sandra kidnapping her children and hiding them in northwestern Minnesota. This case occurred several years ago, and was investigated by the Lakeville Police Dept. The children were ultimately located and Sandra, along with several of her partners, were convicted of numerous felonies for the incident. Micheal covered this story as a journalist and is also writing a book about the incident. Micheal mentioned that he has been harassed by this group of people for some time. In Sept 2016, Sandra's attorney filed an H.R.O. against him but it was quickly dismissed. The attorney in the case was reprimanded Printed On 10/24/2018 for her conduct in the case. April 2015 regarding her side of the story he was trying to cover, and also covered the criminal trial. He said the last time he saw Sandra was at her court hearing in April 2018. He did not speak to her then and has had no direct contact since. Micheal said that he knows that Sandra is living with a male named Jack Auld in Clearwater, Fl. Jack's phone number is . while attempting Micheal said he last contacted Jack 6-8 months ago to verify Sandra' s address in Florida. Micheal also said that Sandra was arrested in Florida for a missed hearing in MN. When she was in jail she met with Jack. Micheal said he was able to view the tapes from the jail of their meetings, and during those meetings Jack and Sandra discussed what he called a "coalition" working against Micheal. He mentioned that they wanted to squeeze him and possibly hire a private investigator. Micheal also had information regarding the Twitter account that had been used to post the picture. He said that in the past the account has been used to harass Judge David Knustson and a law clerk from Dakota County. Micheal was not mentioned as a victim in that case, but Dakota County Sheriff's Officer did investigate. Micheal did not have a case file, but named Deputy Matthew Wayne as the investigator. I spoke with Sarah regarding her day at the mall. She said that she never noticed anything unusual that day. She said they went from Famous Footwear to the food court and had lunch. From there they went to the Asic' s store, then Old Navy and then left the area. She didn' t notice anything else that appeared noteworthy at the time. Micheal and Sarah are concerned for their safety at this point. They are worried about the escalation of tactics from whomever is posting on this account. They said there have been several other incidents of harassment, including a catfishing scam where a male came to their address looking to meet a female. It looked as though the male was deliberately address by someone, sent to their but it was unknown whom. They have also been receiving harassing phone calls. Micheal mentioned that he has extensive additional information tying this Twitter account back to the people involved in the original Lakeville case and would like to speak with an investigator regarding the follow up. He was able to print out screen shots of the Twitter account with the photos of his wife and daughter and give them to me. I will include them in the paper work with this report. I am requesting that Investigations conduct follow up in to this case to attempt to determine they can establish a pattern of harassment if or stalking. I request that they follow up with the victims and Dakota County Sheriff's Office and determine if they can prove who is posting these photos and determine if any criminal charges are appropriate. On 08/ 15/ 18 I began follow up on this case which was assigned to me regarding Michael Brodkorb and harassing communication via Twitter against him and his family. The harassing Twitter account in question is @johnsonmedia2. identified 20 instances I looked through this Twitter account and were Michael or another member of his family was listed on the Twitter page since March 2018. I took screenshots of all of these tweets and have downloaded them to the case file folder. I also sent Twitter a subpoena requesting subscriber and IP information for this Twitter account. Michael had provided me with some information about when the photos of his family members were taken at Famous Footwear at the Eagan Outlet Mall. I contacted however they do not have any video surveillance. Famous Footwear Michael had sent me an email advising that he had gone back to Famous Footwear and was able to speak with an employee that he had seen a person take a photo of his family members. Michael believes this person is Lea Dannewitz. continue follow up in order to speak with this employee to determine if Dannewitz I will could be the woman who took the photo. Michael also advised me that this Twitter account was currently under investigation by the Dakota County Sheriff' s Office for posting tweets Judge David Knutson and a law clerk. I left a voicemail for Deputy Matthew Wayne who Michael stated is investigating that case. Case open, active. End of supplement. ss SUPPLEMENT SPIESS/ 133 DANIEL 33133 33133 33133 08/24/ 2018SPIESS, 08/ 24/ 18, 1143 hours: During the week of 08/ 13/ 18, I was able to speak with Deputy Wayne with the Dakota County Sheriff' s Office who advised me that they had the same Twitter page under investigation in their jurisdiction however after their investigation was complete, they were not able to determine who was posting on this account. Also during the week of 08/13/18, I was able to speak with McKenzie Estelle Poehler who was the employee at Famous Footwear who saw the female take a photo of Sara Brodkorb. Upon speaking with McKenzie, she advised that a short time after Sara had left, the female had made a purchase with her rewards card and requested a home delivery. She described the female as being a white female, approximately 5’2”, short blonde hair that was pinned in the back, 100 to 120 pounds in her mid 30s. I was then able to work with Famous Footwear loss prevention and identify Diane Kathleen Ristau as the individual who had taken a picture of Sara. I called Diane and was able to speak with her over the phone. Diane did state that she was the one who took a photo of Sara while she was shopping at Famous Footwear. She overheard Sara say the name of Michael Brodkorb. Diane stated she has never met either Michael or Sara however has heard a friend of hers talk about Michael so she took a picture of Sara and sent it to

her friend asking if it was the same Brodkorb family. Diane advised me that after taking the photo, she sent it to her friend Carrie Lynn Beaudette and did not send it to anyone else. I was later able to speak with Carrie. Carrie advised me that Diane is well removed from the Brodkorb and Rucki families. Carrie stated she is friends with Deirdre Elise Evavold and advised Deirdre is one of the individuals who was charged from a Lakeville case a few years ago. Carrie advised upon receiving the photo from Diane, she did not know if this was Sara and so she sent the photo to Deirdre asking if this was Michael’ s wife. Carrie advised that she only sent the photo to Deirdre and did not send it to anyone else. I then attempted to contact Deirdre over the phone and have left her multiple voicemails. Deirdre did call back once however it appears she has ceased trying to contact me to speak about this investigation. On 08/24/18 I was able to speak with Michael over the phone. In speaking with Michael, it was decided that at this time this case would be closed as he wished to obtain information about who had taken the photo in order to possibly obtain a harassment restraining that I would close the case at this time and should Twitter eventually order. I advised Michael respond to my subpoena, I would reopen this case should they provide me with any valuable information. Case closed, assisted/ advised. No further follow up necessary at this time. End of supplement. ss SUPPLEMENT SPIESS/ 133 DANIEL 33133 33133 2018SPIESS, 09/06/ 9/5/18, 1644 Hours - On 9/5/18, I received a response from Twitter regarding the Twitter account of Johnsonmedia2. a subpoena I had sent them regarding I was advised by Twitter that the information I requested would not be granted under a subpoena, and I would need a search warrant instead. Based upon the facts I have learned while investigating this case, I do not believe a crime and, therefore, will not be drafting a search warrant to be sent. brought to my attention that in Carrie Beaudette’ s testimony, she had sent the photo that was eventually posted to the Twitter page being investigated for this incident, to Angela Young as well. I have left Young multiple voicemails; however, she has not returned my phone calls. Per the request of the Brodkorb Family, I have also reached out to Twitter to inquire as to the process to have them remove the pictures being investigated in this case. After emailing a representative from Twitter, I was advised that the posts do not violate their terms of service and therefore they would not be removing them. Case status is closed.
