TheDrewks 2 hours ago By Minnesota Statutes one does not have to present I.D. for public records, and sometimes I don't, but in this case it was a simple accident report that I was a witness to and I just wanted a copy of it and to leave quickly. I also figured that my witness statement or information may have been redacted due to the MS 13.82, and I wanted the full copy. Plus, I generally try to be nice to records clerks; it's just good forum.

No problem at all.This video was not meant to be a how-to or an instructional video, but just a documentation of my interaction obtaining these records from the Maplewood P.D..
A little niceness and civility can go a long way; They could have charged me 25¢ for the accident report and $1.50 for the policy, but they gave me the report and offered to e-mail me the policy instead. This saved me money and the time of having to scan the policy into my computer, plus it builds rapport with the P.D..
