On 08/22/20, I spoke with Judd Hoff over the phone. Judd wanted to report that a Rex Mindach who resides at 505 7 th Avenue W., may have information to add as he reportedly witnessed Cornett following Hoff the day of this incident.

Speaking with Rex, he does not know either person involved, but did see what he
described as a silver car (Cornett) following closely behind a white car (Hoff) with a flag on top of it. He said that he first noticed both vehicles coming out from the service road on the east side of ALP onto 4 th Avenue W. He noticed an American flag on a car and gave the driver a thumbs up. He said from there all the way to his residence the white car followed him and the silver car followed the white car.

Rex drives down an alley to get to his garage and he said both vehicles followed him into the alley. He said they then continued on, he got out of his vehicle and lost sight of them. He said at that time he heard some yelling, but did not know which vehicle it came from.

The last he remembers as from the front of his residence you can see the sheriff’s office is both vehicles heading north on Elm Street past the west side of the sheriffs office.

They both turned right and headed east on 7 th Avenue in front of the sheriff’s office and then took a right onto Fillmore where he said he heard the incident or confrontation took place between the two.

Rex said the vehicles were not traveling at high speeds. He would estimate the silver vehicle was within 3 to 4 feet of the white vehicle as they were driving. There was one intersection that he was not too sure of where he believed both vehicles did not stop at a stop sign. He thought the white vehicle stopped for the two stop signs near the sheriff’s office, but doesn’t think the silver car did.

There should be video that would have captured some of this incident, as there is a camera on both the west and east side of the office.

It should be noted, Cornett did admit to following Hoff around. Rex and video from the sheriff’s office corroborate such.

This report will be forwarded to both the county and city attorney’s offices.
