A private company has been hired by the Duluth school district to search East and Denfeld high schools with dogs sniffing for drugs, alcohol and gunpowder. Interquest Detection Canines has already searched each school a couple of times, after holding assemblies for students to learn what the dogs do. The national company, with franchises in Duluth and Wadena, Minn., is also used by schools in Wrenshall, Hibbing, Chisholm, Virginia and Eveleth-Gilbert. I was not party to Rupp’s plan to eviscerate Art Johnston but I can only presume that Annie Harala and Rosie Loeffler-Kemp were in the know and made no objections. 2:30 to the School District’s Business office for two hours pouring through the 2014 legal billing of my favorite law firm Rupp and Company. Very Interesting. We got billed a lot by the firm for offering advice on how to deal with data requests. In July of 2014 it looks that such advice cost us over $8,000.00!!!!! I guess the advice was not to give any data out considering that Art Johnston’s dozen data requests were pretty much ignored.
