On 06/17/2017 at 1158 hrs, Bonnie contacted me and stated that they had found out who was stealing the narcotics medication. Bonnie reported that they know the suspect from the surveillance footage that they installed in the medication room. I went to the incident location. I made contact with Bonnie and she showed me the surveillance footage. Bonnie identified the suspect as, Samantha Elizabeth Navratil. [Note: Navratil DOB = 02/14/1996 aka 21 YOA] Bonnie stated that they were working on terminating her employment with them. … My observation: I reviewed the surveillance footage and speaking with Samantha did not match the suspect’s description. Sharon Kay Byro, 56, of New Ulm, was charged with felonies in November after painkillers were taken from a senior facility at which she worked. After two thefts, staff set up a surveillance camera and two colleagues identified a woman caught on video as Byro. Prosecutor Chris Rovney said he dismissed the charges this week after Bryro's attorney provided alibi evidence that made him believe he could not prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Special Agent Rittmiller relayed all the relevant information to law enforcement surveillance personnel who advised that they spotted Stanek's vehicle in the area. At approximately 10:15 PM, Stanek was arrested without incident as he drove his pickup truck to the meeting location. Stanek's iPhone was located on the driver seat of the vehicle. Special Agent Rittmiller took possession of the phone. It was also noted that there appeared to be a freshly laid out blanket in the back seat of Stanek's vehicle. Stanek was then transported to the Blue Earth County Justice Center where Special Agent Rittmiller and Special Agent Michael Anderson conducted an interview of Stanek. Stanek was read the Miranda Warning and agreed to speak without an attorney present. Stanek admitted that he met Witness 1 on a social media application and that he and Witness 1 soon began text messaging each other. Stanek stated he was the user of the iPhone located in his vehicle. Stanek admitted that he came to the meet location for the purpose of a sexual encounter with Witness 2. Stanek acknowledged that any sexual contact with a 13 or 14-year-old child is not permitted under the law. Stanek admitted that he was aware of Witness 2's age. On May 22, 2017 Special Agent Rittmiller prepared a search warrant requesting authorization to search and extract data from Stanek's iPhone. The search warrant was reviewed and signed by a judge of the Fifth Judicial District. On 06/17/2017 at 1158 hrs, Bonnie contacted me and stated that they had found out who was stealing the narcotics medication. Bonnie reported that they know the suspect from the surveillance footage that they installed in the medication room. I went to the incident location. I made contact with Bonnie and she showed me the surveillance footage. Bonnie identified the suspect as, Samantha Elizabeth Navratil. Officer Schnorenber, a 30 year veteran of the Mankato Department of Public Safety, stated that he received a dispatch to the Country Inn and Suites for a disturbance around the front desk involving a 6’4” to 6’5” male throwing stuff around, irate and yelling. He was in a marked squad car and wearing a standard Mankato DPS blue uniform. According to the July 2007: “Nemmers faces two new charges in Pope County” article that I have found on Terry Dean Nemmers, possessing large amounts of guns and ammunition, making false license plates to avoid paying motor vehicle tax, and obstructing legal process not to mention the two video conversations with Mankato officials being rude and demanding. Clearly, Nemmer has issues with authority. This individual appears to be extremely unstable and everyone needs to be vigilant of such an aggressive individual if located in Mankato.
